For Photography, "Picky People Pick Chuck"
About Me

Chuck was born in Nashville and at an early age developed an interest in music and photography. Buying both his first guitar and camera when he was 14 with money he made working as a bus boy at Skyline restaurant.

After a couple of thousand exposures, building a darkroom in his parents basement and working at Kuffery's studio, Chuck shot his first solo wedding 2 weeks after he turned 16. He went on to be a photographer for the yearbook and the school's newspaper. He continued to shoot for Kuffery's studio until he graduated High School.

After High School, Chuck attended and graduated from MTSU with a degree in photography. While there he ran his own photography company, was the Chief Photographer for Sidelines newspaper, a photographer for the yearbook and school magazine, College. He also worked as a photographic lab assistant and for doc McGinnis Camera. All in all a very busy photographic experience during college.

After graduation, Chuck's first job out of college was as an advertising sales person and photographer for the Review Appeal in Franklin, Tennessee. After helping the Review Appeal grow from the "Nations Oldest Weekly Newspaper" to a twice weekly newspaper. Great job, great people.

Chuck's next challenge was as District Manager of Prestige Portraits (now Lifetouch) managing, selling and photographing 11 highschools. He introduced fill flash outdoors, shooting in the schools 5 times per year and had the highest average of any territory in the country. After a breakin and loosing all of his equipment Chuck joined the Navy...

Orgionally joining the Navy to become a "Photo Officer", he flew, drove ships, was a gunnery officer, division officer, department head and eventually a public affairs officer. Never a photo officer :(.

In 1986 Chuck came off of active duty and opened up Positive Image Studios, a commercial photographic studio / Cibachrome lab in Norfolk, VA where he did corporate photography.

After the adoption of their first son, his wife Ellen, asked if there was a chance that he could not work 18 hours per day 7 days a week. It kinda sneeks up on you....

Chuck became a computer engineer and had done that and photography and music for the next 18 years for various companies. Growing each and every one of those companies 100's of millions of dollars per year.
